Join us for the next instalment in Dr Robert Cannon’s opera lecture series for Classical Opera & The Mozartists. He will examine Cosi fan tutte’s long-held reputation for silliness and immorality – and look at the deeper meaning behind Mozart’s final masterpiece written in collaboration with celebrated librettist Lorenzo da Ponte.
Dr Robert Cannon is a sought-after lecturer on a wide range of subjects in the arts, with a specialism in the history of opera, and is the author of the Cambridge University Press Introduction to Opera . This will be the fifth in his acclaimed series of opera lectures presented to raise funds for Classical Opera & The Mozartists to continue to bring their outstanding opera performances to the public.
This lecture will be of interest to anyone who wishes to understand opera in context, and is also designed to enrich the experience of the performance on the same evening at Cadogan Hall of Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte. The lecture will last approximately one hour, and the evening performance begins at 7pm.
