Alessandro Fisher,

Alessandro Fisher is a graduate of London’s Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and read Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge. He won First Prize at the 2016 Kathleen Ferrier Awards. He is a Classical Opera Associate Artist, and roles with the company have included Christian (The First Commandment), Don Polidoro (La finta semplice) and Bastien on a new recording of Bastien und Bastienne (due for release in autumn 2018). Other opera roles have included Alindo/Delmiro (Hipermestra) at the 2017 Glyndebourne Festival, First Armed Man/Priest (Die Zauberflöte) and Bellecourt (Vert-Vert) for Garsington Opera, Banquo in Luke Styles’ Macbeth for Glyndebourne’s Jerwood Project, the title role in Rameau’sDardanus for English Touring Opera, Count Bandiera in Salieri’s La scuola de’ gelosi for Bampton Classical Opera, and Theodore in Edward Loder’s Raymond and Agnes for Retrospect Opera (recording). In 2019 he will make his début at the Salzburg Festival singing Lucano/First Soldier (L’incoronazione di Poppea). Concert highlights have included recitals at London’s Wigmore Hall, BBC Radio 3’s Big Chamber Day, ‘The Last of the Romantics: Mahler and fin-de-siècle Vienna’ at the Oxford Lieder Festival, and Roussel’sEvocations with the BBC Philharmonic (also on Chandos CD).
