The Classical Opera Company has established a reputation as one of the country’s most exciting young musical organisations through its stimulating, imaginative and high-quality live performances. As we look to build our profile in the UK and abroad we are now in a position to start making our first recordings, and we have exciting plans in place. However, we need to raise significant funds in order to realize them.
We have already been approached by a high-profile record company which is keen to market and distribute Classical Opera Company recordings internationally, and we have keen radio interest in helping us to promote our first CD. With the recording industry in decline, though, the costs of making a classical recording generally outweigh the income from sales. Therefore, in line with current trends, the recording company would cover manufacturing and marketing costs, but we need to find the means to cover the artistic costs.
It costs £30-60,000 to pay an orchestra, singers, publishers’ royalties, venue hire, and harpsichord hire for a recording, and for our first recording we need to find £30,000. Can you help us?
We can offer a number of benefits to our sponsor(s):
acknowledgement in the CD sleeve (to be negotiated with the record label)
acknowledgement in the press release
an agreed number of copies of the CD
a substantial discount on further copies of the CD
a dinner with the conductor and artists
the possibility of a private recital / launch party with artists featuring on the CD
By generously supporting our first recording, the sponsor(s) will be enabling the Classical Opera Company to reach a new phase in its development, helping us to:
bring our work to far wider audiences, both at home and internationally
market our performances through radio broadcasts
increase our potential to secure tour dates both in the UK and abroad
enhance our ability to raise much-needed funds to make our live performances possible
promote our outstanding ensemble of young singers, giving them invaluable experience and publicity as they embark on high-profile international careers
