The Classical Opera Company enjoys a unique place in the musical life of the UK, having established the reputation and quality to secure regular performances at such prestigious and high-profile events as Sadler’s Wells, the Barbican and Wigmore Hall, whilst at the same time retaining the development and promotion of outstanding young artists at the centre of its mission.
Under its dynamic artistic director Ian Page, the company specialises in the music of Mozart and his contemporaries, and delivers performances which are exhilarating, fresh and inspiring. It has been responsible for nurturing many of the country’s most exciting young musicians – a high proportion of its singers are rapidly offered important roles at Covent Garden and Glyndebourne – and has attracted widespread acclaim and a hugely enthusiastic following.
